Wadowice is the birthplace of the Pope John Paul II (former Cardinal of Krakow – Karol Wojtyla). City of the Pope is often visited by both tourists and pilgrims. Places worth visiting are: The Pope’s Family House and Basilica with 15th century choir and baptistery in which Karol Wojtyla was baptised as a child.
The exhibition in the family house of Pope John Paul II at 7 Koscielna Street illustrates and commemorates his life and work in Poland, until he left it for good.
Also there is Basilica where Karol Wojtyla was baptized and made his First Holy Communion. The interior impresses with the high altar with the image of the patron of the church – Virgin Mary with Child, adorned with a silver coat.
Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is a tiny village with a beautiful, early-baroque sanctuary mounting over the narrow streets. Around the sanctuary the paths in the forest allow for contemplation and prayer in many smaller churches and shrines located on the steep hill. John Paul II has refer to this unique place in his memories.
Łagiewniki – Goods Mercy Sanctuary. This place is connected not only with John Paul II but also wit St. Sister Faustin. Sanctuary got two churches – the old one is St. Joseph Church and the new on – one of the biggest in Europe – Basilica of Goods Mercy. In the St. Joseph church is located a grave of St. Sister Faustin. If you wish we will give time for prays in this place.
Last part of the tour is Krakow sightseeing – in traces of John Paul II. Sightseeing will be made in very comfortable way – by electric car. During this tour you will see places like – Bishop’s Palace, Royal Route, Wawel – Royal Castle, Church of St. Stanislaos, St. Florian Church, Colegium Maius, Błonia and The Popes Rock, Wojtyla’s house on Tyniecka St., Church in Dębniki and many more places.
