Auschwitz Tour and lunch on a barge on the Vistula River in Krakow
After visiting the former concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau we recommend a dinner on Arlina Barge, situated by the Wisla River, in Krakow.
Firstly, we'll take you to the Auschwitz Museum for the guided tour in former concentration camp in Auschwitz Birkenau.
We enter the former camp of Auschwitz by the gate with the inscription Arbeit macht frei. The path reaches the exhibitions' buildings with the private belongings of the prisoners gathered there. Further on the camp in Birkenau consists of a series of wooden barracks built by the prisoners. There is no exhibition there but the originally preserved camp site.
The Barge Arlina was produced in 1889. It is 60 meters long and has an interesting history. It was bought in 2003 by a Dutchman Albert Korsten, who had lived and worked on it since 1970. The barge traveled nearly a year through inland waterways from Rotterdam to Krakow. The barge is moored at Kazimierz District near Pilsudski Bridge.
The barge restaurant serves creative and classic dishes of excellent quality and taste.
For a tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau we'll take you directly from the place of your stay in Krakow (hotel/apartment or the other chosen place) at approx. 9.00 AM. After sightseeing return to Krakow for a dinner on the barge.
