A tour to the former concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau which was the largest Nazi death camp. It is a worldwide symbol of the terror, genocide and the Holocaust.
The concentration camp was founded by the Nazis on the outskirts of the town of Oswiecim during the Nazi's occupation of Poland in 1940. The name was changed to German name Auschwitz which soon had become the most recognized place of the Nazi's crimes.
During a tour you'll see the site of the camp: remaining camp buildings and its ruins, residential barracks (including the ruins of the gas chambers and crematoria), several kilometers long camp fence and interior roads and unloading ramp in Birkenau.
Additionally, an important part of the tour is visiting of the exhibition presented in the remaining five blocks of the camp. It presents the documentation of life and detention of war prisoners, historical exhibitions including: clothing for prisoners, bunks and other furniture in the room equipped for the prisoners, the collection of personal property taken from the deported Jews.
This place is still visited by people from all over the world to see the remnants of one of the greatest crimes against humanity in the world history.
